So Buzz Sutherland came to Fort Hays State University, and entertained a nice portion of the FHSU student body. He had some hilarious stuff, and for the life of me I can't remember it. The things I do remember, however, are his expressions and actions, which are hard to put down on paper and maintain the comicness of it all. The other things that I do remember, are perhaps a little too off color for this blog. Especially his Donald Duck routine, which is among some of his more popular stuff. Buzz Sutherland is to Donald Duck as Jeff Foxworthy is to Redneck stuff.
I can tell you, however, that I was involved in the show. Because he didn't ask my name, nor particularly care, he simply refered to me as Tator-Tot after I came up on stage (well, not so much a stage as it is a step. This was in Chuck's Place in Wiest Hall), and the other... huge... guy was known as Mountain something or other. The name escapes me for the moment.
Needless to say, he taught us some very slick dance moves. Here's all you need to know:
Get a confused look on your face.
Act like you're riding a horse.
Wiggle your head in a circular fashion.
...And I think there's more. Long story short, though, I managed to make the women swoon. No, wait, it was laugh hysterically.
But he did keep me onstage for the special light-pens-up-the-nose performed to the song, Duelling Banjos. He even let me keep the light pens!
So, in summary, Buzz Sutherland is funny.
