Huzzuh!

I just got my camcorder in today, and I have a neat idea for a movie to shoot with it. Beyond that movie, I have nothing. So if any of you have any ideas, just let me know.

This camera has so many cool features, most of which I'll never use. I have a memory card, but no cassette (I bought it off Ebay), so all I can do at the present moment is take 640x480 pictures, and shoot movies at 320x240 with 10 Frames per second. My question: WHY? Why have a camcorder that can record nice home movies shoot subpar, digital camera quality stuff? Dumb.
"But Shayne, when you do it this way, it is easier to take off of the camera and upload onto the internet."
Also dumb. You know how to fix that problem? Learn how to use the camcorder. Simple, problem fixed.
"It keeps movies in neat, different files and is great for spur of the moment happennings."
Rebuttle: Sounds like you need to buy a regular digital camera. Camcorders are great for spur of the moment things, provided you lug the thing around.

Bottom line: So far, I love this camcorder, and it will (hopefully) be a dependible product for years, and able to record all of our zany exploits.

But for those of you looking for a neat little camera/camcorder type experience, maybe the Sony Digicam W1 is for you. While technically a digital camera, it has the capability to take upperly decent 5Megapixel pictures and record 640x480 movies at 30 frames per second, which hasn't been seen by any other camera that I've known. It still doesn't compare with a dedicated movie machine though. The price: $340 to $450.

And another detailed review of a moive

Went and saw the new Bourne moive. For the most part I liked it, some of the action scenes were a bit confusing (they did that whole "shake the camera so it looks like you're in the fight too" effect, which is stupid). I liked the story and everything, though I think Jason Bourne should have kicked more butt. He only killed one person in the entire moive.

Wow, I wrote a lot more than I usualy do. I should have just reviewed it like I review all the other moives.
"What an awesome moive, go watch it ya'll!"

What a great weekend!!!

Hey everyone!  Guess what, Sam is in town.   She came to visit me!  Hurray!!!! Now I just need to get Shayne out here a couple of weeks before school starts to get Lester on track so Shayne has some space to move in to when he arrives.  So Shayne get your butt out here so we can goof off.   Last night we watched that other Bourne movie and it gave me a headache.

well .....

Life

Life is a funny thing.
It has a beguin.
It has an end.
But beyond these little can be see.
It is here.
It is now.
But never to come again.
It will be happy.
It will be sad.
But no one knows what is next.
One thing is constant.
That is nothing is constant.

Live it.

Seek the truth.
e^(-i*pi) = -1

Sorry - about my last post

Half the stuff I write is not meant to be taken totally seriously. When I said "I don't like emotions" I didn't mean that literally. I kind of meant it as "I hate it when my emotions get the best of me." I like emotions, its what lets me enjoy music, or relate to characters in movies, and other usefull thing. Nice comment by the way, Shayne. Hehehehe

ju-jus

I am so awsome just admit it

Man, I Just Don't Know

Things are looking up....things are looking down. I'm so confused.
This is why I don't like emotions, it gets in the way of my thinking. Of course I don't do a lot of thinking in the first place. I've decided I'm gonna try something new. I don't know if you all will like it or not, but I have to do this for my own sanity. I need to be more confident, and stand up for what I believe! Hopefully I don't turn into an ass or anything, but it is quite possible.

Man, no one really writes in the blogs anymore. Does anyone actually read this other than Jon, Shayne, me, and some of my secret friends?

Dude, someone tipped Jon $10 for delivering pizza. We're gonna go to McD's now. Food is good, though McD's isn't the best. Oh well.......you all can go to hell (not really).

JibJab: This Land

Although I get weary posting anything slightly political on the blog, unless its clearly tongue-in-cheek or so watered down that it can't even offend a pig (a French pig (See? Tongue-in-cheek. So don't send me hate mail, frogs)), because I like to keep things light, and even then I do it sparingly. Why should I tell you what to think? With that being said, you've got to slide on down to Atom Films "This Land" which pokes fun at both Bushand Kerry. Bottom Line: You will laugh at this film, or else you have no sense of humor and you will eventually die from stress. So just watch and enjoy, for your health.

It is the works of the people at jibjab.com, and for Flash films, this is high quality, dude. 3.7 Megs.

If you DO get offended at some of the language, then you probably shouldn't go there. But then again, you won't know if you get offended until you go there. Quite the pickle.

Whoa

Dudes and dudettes I have been in Olathe the last couple of days.  Man it was crazy.  I had to relearn how to drive so I wasn't smashed when I was there.  It sucked, people are so pushy there. But now I get to come back and work, yay!

Woah!

Miss Machine = Masterpiece
Dillinger Escape Plan = Gods of Metal

That totally blew me away, I am speachless. What an awesome album.

Now, I just have to wait one more week for Ghost in the Shell to come out. I'm so freakin' excited. It comes with the soundtrack!

Email us! Please!

The whole blog staff has one new email: fhsublog@yahoo.com , so now you can pose tough questions that FHSUB can squash with the mightest of answers. Since there are 8 of us, maybe one of us will check it every now and again. But send us an email anyway! Who knows, maybe it will be featured on the sacred blog, and you might win a free t-shirt pat on the back administered by yourself.

And you can ask us about ANYTHING.

Here are some samples to get you started:
Q:"What is the atomic weight of carbornium?"
A:"Check your vision, then look in a chemistry book."

Q:"My boyfriend dumped me, what should I do?"
A:"Date me, pretty lady." [editor's note: that applies only to pretty ladies... and possibly just regular ladies. We'll see.]

Q:"My girlfriend thinks I dumped her, what do I do?"
A:"Forget about her and move far away."

See, simple answers for complex questions.

Jesus.com - Jesus seeks loving woman

Man, I wish I could Date Jesus. That would be so totally awesome. I wish there was an opportunity like that.
What's that you say? If I were a girl I CAN date Jesus!? Awesome! I just need to go to this website. And then get a sex change. Man this is gonna be great.

Dillinger Escape Plan, The --- Official Relapse Records Band Page

Dillinger Escape Plan, bio

Miss Machine....tomorrow baby! I can't wait.

Thoughts of Today

Today I discovered that driving stick with only one hand is difficult, and also dangerous. It is highly not recommended. Man I wish I had a cupholder or something.

Also, today I found out that peeing while standing up on your hands is a bad idea for a few reasons.
1. Unless you are really talented, you need to use BOTH hands to stand up.
2. Its hard to aim using your feet.
3. My legs don't bend that way anyway....
4. When upside-down, default mode is "aim for face."
So next time you have the brilliant idea of showing off by peeing standing on your hands, just remember those 4 things.

Some people don't like the type of music I listen to (hardcore heavy metal thrash death metal whatever), but I think its great stuff. A lot of people criticize it saying "its not music" or that "its just a bunch of random noises" but that's not true. OK, maybe in some cases it is true, but for the most part the musicians usually know what they are doing and play music that purposefully sound horrible. That's their way of expressing their emotions or whatever they're trying to express, and I relate to that. Its good stuff.

I finally got everything out of my old room and down to the new room. Thank you Jon for helping me, couldn't have done it without you. It is really crowded in here right now, I haven't had a chance to put everything way yet. Its all just laying in the middle of the "living room." Oh well. Man its really dusty upstairs.

Mod Flanders Conspiracy
Go there and check out their new songs! Its freakin' awesome man!

Dillinger Escape Plan
Their new album comes out in 2 more days! I'm really excited about this. Sounds like its gonna be an awesome album.

I went and saw I, Robot the other day. It was a pretty good movie. I would recommend it other people. My friend said it did a good job of following the book (I never read it so I wouldn't know, though I would like to read it some day).

I also saw Anchorman. That was an awesome movie. It was very weird and very random, but I liked it. If you're in a goofy mood and feel like watching a really goofy movie, go watch Anchorman.

Man this was kind of a long blog, and really random. Oh well, that's how my life goes so, deal with it.

.....I wish I had friends....
and maybe some lady friends too.....
and ice cream, I like ice cream.
Life is a wonderful thing, don't waste it...like I'm doing right now.

New family member and stuff

I'm getting a new sister. She's from my mom's other side, the alien side. She was ready to be hatched about 20 years ago but refused to come out of her pod so mom just let her stay there. Now she's coming out soon and I'm finally going to have my very own little sister to boss around and stuff. I think I'll be pretty good at it cuz I learned from the best - my two older brothers.

Ok, really Suzi is one of my bestest friends and she's having family problems so my mom told her she could move in with us if it gets too bad. It's not my deal so I can't explain what is going on with her family other than they are being really mean to her.

Oh yeah, I got a new haircut yesterday. Ok well it's an old one revisited with a new flair or whatever. But it's cute and I like it and so do most people I've seen ( or they just don't want to tell me it sucks, whatever).

I guess that'll work for now.

Sam

Jon The Great is back!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!  Whats up my peeps?  I have finally gotten a job and worked one day.   The squirrels can no longer hold me back from my plans to defeat their plans that they are planning to use when they plan on using their "Taking over the world" plan.  They are still pissed about me putting their whole invasion of our world online, in that website I never learned how to make.  But now I will have the funding and the transportation to try and start my counter-strike revolution.  The funding will come from my paychecks at Pizza Hut and the counter-strike will be my car as I run over the squirrels while delivering the pizza to get my paycheck from Pizza Hut.  There will be no stop to me this time.  I will have those rebel squirrels and get back the stolen plans for my death squirrel star that they stole and are now modifiiing to use on humans.  They will not inslave this race or our people just to send us to Mars where we will have to mine acorns for them.  Victory will be mine and then the world will have to send me a very nice thank you card.

Movie Review: The Terminal

This movie was 128 minutes, which was about 38 minutes too long for this movie. Conflict was also created where it wasn't needed, like Catherine Zeta-Jones almost self destructive nature with men, Frank Dixon's evil plans to get rid of Hanks character. The movie just gets more unbelievable at the end, like when he hails a cab, and he gets a cab just like that! Twice! Now, I've never been to The Big Yorkple, or whatever they call it, but that is quite a feat. And another thing: Viktor (Hanks) was from or around the Russian area, but yet we only see him attempting to get drunk once. He should have been blinding drunk the whole show for it to be believable, with breath that can glow in the dark.

But the part I don't understand the most is where he manages to go back in time to the 1980's to kill the mother of a boy that will lead the resistance to the machines.
... Oh, wait, that was The Terminator. I get confused sometimes, sorry.

It does have some cute moments, and the comedy is certainly good too. Not GOOD good, but good.

Anyways, I'd give it a 6 out of 10 movie quality units, or as some people like to call them, stars.

Spiderman 2 will be showing in our town next week, and I'm sure you know that only my opinion matters and you are depending on me to tell you what to think of it, as all of the tubs of Crisco in the world can't help Ebert to get a keener view of the movie world compared to me. I suppose it would help him burn hotter and longer in a fire, though. Wow, when did I turn egotisical and mean? Sorry people, I'll cut back, and tell Ebert to do the same.
I just can't stop myself!

Yo Shayne My Man!

I'm sort of moved into our room. Over half my stuff is still in my old room but I'm sleeping in the new room now (plus that's where my computer is now). Do you want the top bunk or bottom bunk? Oh, and were you gonna bring anything that needs to be put under the bed? Cause I might take up a lot of that space....
Let me know what's going ons!

Love with all of my hear,

PS I thought this was a blog...not a letter. Oh well.

Use System Restore to Undo Changes if Problems Occur

Have you ever received an email claiming to give you money when you forward that email to people, and then those emails give you money too? I've received it several times, from a couple of my friends. Eventually it pushed me over the edge, so I whipped out my Calculus skills and showed that the exchange of money was so astronomical that there isn't enough money in the United States, let alone Microsoft, to pay all those people. Then I realized I could have just added, but that wouldn't have been as much fun.

What about the claim that tapping the side of a soda can will prevent its contents from foaming over when you open it?

've got this baby bookmarked, because not only is it funny, but it will totally blow that loudmouth know-it-all out of the water (Hmm, that guy sounds familiar). It's called snopes.com, the first line for defense for urban legend stuffs.

Wow. The reason I haven't posted anything the past three days is because I installed a new modem, and for whatever reason it decided to be lazy and not connect to the internet. After going through blah blah blah (boring technical information left out, boring stuff), I gave up, and went back to the old modem, but for some odd reason, installing its old drivers results in the blue screen of death, every time I tried to use the internet, or even just to view the modem in the device manager.

So there I was. 28 to 24, seven seconds left on the clock, 4th and long on the enemy's 30 yard line. My Hail Mary play was the System Restore feature that Microsoft implemented in every version of Windows since the infamous Windows Me. I shunned it ever since it came along, because it just took up too much hard drive space. Luckily, the compy gods were merciful that night (er, tonight), and I restored my computer to the time before I installed the new modem. The receiver caught the ball in a dazzling display of... catching-the-ballness, just inside the end zone for the TD. Everything works just like I had before. I'm back on the internet, baby. I walked away with the win, although with my pride hurt and a bit humbled.

System Restore has my support now, and I guess it will have to be that way for every other digerati (digital literati: One learned in the computer arts) out there to find out for themselves. I'm still going over the aftermath of all my computer troubles, but the likely culprit is most likely the driver I downloaded, and it just doesn't play nice with... anything. (More technical stuff left out. You'll notice I left a fair amount in, but this is my post, so I'll say what I want).

Man oh man, all this free time an no time to blog!

Hey, it me, Jon. I still don't have a job which is very not cool. Oh well I think I am just going to sell used body parts. I saw a funeral going on the other day when I turned in my applications. So maybe one night soon I will sneak in and borrow some of those organs and sell them online. Or maybe not. Yeah that job is too gross for me plus Lester would always be trying to eat the body parts. But I do say it is a good thing other people have money and jobs so I can atleast mooch food off of them. Especially Tom who works at the donut factory. Well tomorrow I will be applying at the only place I haven't applied yet, the City of Hays Sewage Treatment Plant. Hopefully they need help... they gotta... who would want that job... come on some other place call me so I don't have to work there!

the website

I wasted the night updating the site with links and a cooler look. Learned about html tables and i think i almost understand html. Come and see at http://scatcat.fhsu.edu/~pdmaseberg/

paul's webpage

go to http://scatcat.fhsu.edu/~pdmaseberg to see my html ablitys or lack there of. I put a cool .gif on it and that is it. But I hope it gets bigger in the future. all have a great week.

What Happened Before the Big Bang? : Paul Davies

If you read What Happened Before the Big Bang?, you will find out that, in fact, the entire universe is a piece of gum. Or something, I can't understand where I left my shoes, let alone this.

Seriously, I found this to wrap everything up into a neat little package, which then explodes. And you should take my word on that, since I have the credentials to know everything. That's why everyone calls me "Oracle"... or maybe it was "Urkel", but I have a hard time hearing, and I think the guy that called me that was blind because I'm Caucasian.

I still have a few questions, like "What about the other 7 dimensions?", "Does motion define time, or does time define motion?" and "Who will be the next $10,000 winner of AFV?"

Enemy List

Enemy List for the Super Mario World. Good for nerds.

Keep it real

I'm not sure why, but today I feel like a weight has been lifted off the monkey hanging on my back. I'm mellow, I've got a peaceful, easy feeling. Maybe it's because of my dream that I had, which I don't remember. Perhaps it's because I got to wake up later than usual. Maybe because I went to church and got some advice. Who knows, but I like it. I didn't even know I was feeling down (well, not "down", more like below average). It is good to get a reminder every now and again that you shouldn't worry about every little or big thing that happens to you or to someone else, because worrying won't help, and you only complain when you don't want to do anything useful to fix the problem yourself.

Your sense of humor is one of the greatest survival mechanisms you have, whether you are fighting stress, some crisis, or even to calm down someone about to implode your face. Hmm... I guess Roger Rabbit was right all along.

Shout outs Baby!

Happy Birthday Paul! Keep it real baby! You sexy beast you!

Hey Shayne, I luv ya, let me know what is up!

Jon, keep looking and I'm sure you'll find an awesome job. Don't give up, Bitch!

Math by Farming

For anyone who visits this blog (heh heh, ok, I know nobody else visits this site besides us, but let's pretend anyway), they'd know that I'm currently located on a farm doing farm related things. When it comes time for me to talk about things in this blog of ours, I tend to talk about... farming. What else would I talk about, New York?

New York state's population is 19,190,115 total with 17,624,305 of those people living in metro areas as of 2003(USDA/ERS). NY covers 54,475 square miles, which is the 27th largest state in the USA. So, on average, that would be 323.5 people per mile, but that doesn't matter. Main imports are immigrant taxi drivers and gorilla stink spray (Just a guess). The state animal is the beaver. Dinosaur fossils found in New York are from the
Coelophysis, which was considered one of the geeks of the dinosaur carnivores, and was beat up daily for milk money, which explains why they traveled in packs and were able to run away really fast. I guess that's the joke: Once you've saurischian, you've seen them all...

...OF COURSE I'M GOING TO TALK ABOUT FARMING, YOU DOLT!

Now to farming. Also, get your pad, pen, and calculator ready.

We're still harvesting wheat. All of that rain we got a couple weeks ago set us back, and currently we are on a 450 acre sprinkler irrigated crop. 450 acres, what's that? That is 19,602,000 square feet my friend, or 0.703125 square miles (640 acres in a mile), so the radius of this circular field is 2498 feet. To help you relate how big this is: Imagine the state of New York. Ok, now imagine it 1.29x10^-5 of that size. Yeah, that big. Seriously, for those of you who have been on the FHSU campus, imagine that area. The university grounds is about 275 acres big, or 0.430 square miles.

We have been farming on this field for four days now, and we are only 70% done (estimated). Here is where the real mathy stuff comes in, and someone might want to check my numbers, but here we go.
We cut the field with a 30 foot-wide header, but since we don't go to the edge of the header, we really only use an average of about 28 feet of that header. We have 2 combines, so you could say we cut with a 56 foot width. Because this field is irrigated, we have to go really, really slow. Instead of 5.0 mph, we average only around 1.9 mph, or 10,032 feet/hour. So, that means every hour, we harvest 56 * 10032 = 561792 square feet per hour, or 12.9 acres/hour. That means that the whole field will take 450 / 12.9 = 34.9 hours to cut a field. A whole day's work is 13 to 14 hours, but we only cut for 12 hours a day, give or take. So, the whole field can get cut in 3 days.

3 days to cut, but we've been there for four days, and, if we're lucky, only one more day. So what's the problem? For the whole harvest, we have had 6 breakdowns (or 6 unrequested interruptions of combine operations, if you want to get bureaucratic about it), and ALL SIX of those breakdowns were in this field. Irrigated wheat can do that. 4 of those breakdowns were mine, and involved the header in some way, and one of them was sort of my fault, I didn't tighten down two bolts to the required torque. How am I supposed to know how much 120 foot-pounds feel like? Are you still reading this? Or did you just skip to the end, you punk?! In any case, you shall be rewarded (or punished, you cheater) by giving you a link to the everything conversion tool: OnlineConversion.com, or a kick in the head. You'll have to travel to me, and bend your head down, or you can have someone else kick you for me through proxy.

Ugh. I think my brain just died.

Where is everyone?

No one is posting anymore. This is sad. I am sad. Where did everyone go?

My Job seems pretty cool (though I have only worked one day so far). I really need the money, I am running out!

Yesterday's storm was freakin' awesome! Sirens were going off the hook! The power went out and we had no radio, thanks Jess for informing us about the weather. We couldn't really contact anyone else. Happy Birthday by the way.

Mmmm mmm mmmmm IceCream.

Jobs

Thought I mention I got a job today as well. I think its funny that Sam, Jon, and me all got a job today. I'll be working at Compare Computers, my boss is Kiel, a close friend of mine that I've known since middle school. I just like to say thanks to him for getting me this job. I know I'm not the most qualified for this job, but I shall do my best!

On a different note, Jazzcore, screamo, math metal, hardcore, thrash metal, thrashcore, metalcore, and lounge music all kick major ass. Woot (too many cds I want to buy...I love music oh so much).

Thank you, GMail

You see, this is why capitalism is great. Competition for the dollar. Thanks to threats from Google's email service that boasts 1GB capacity, other companies are realizing that they aren't sitting as comfortably as they used to. Yahoo upped its capacity from, what, 15 megabytes, to 100MB, and now, finally, Microsoft will be upping their limits from 4MB to 250MB per account and 10MB per email attachment. 250MB? Now you'll never have to worry about deleting those pictures your family sends you.
Now would this have happened if communism was in place? No, because you'd still be in line for toilet paper. Man, I love America. Well, the United States part anyway. Canada makes a good bacon, so I guess they're good too.

Its the 4th

Merry 4th of July everybody! Hope everyone is having fun. I'm grilling out with Sam and Jon (and a couple of their friends). We bought a lot of food and a bucket of icecream, I love the icecream. Mmm mmm icecream. Oh hells yeah! You two better pay me back sometime.

what the heck

I feel it coming. Something good, like a job call hopefully. My spacebar is broken so it takes twice as long to type stuff now. I think my job delay is due to the squirrels finding out I placed their plans for world domination on the web. Oh well I will get one soon enough and then we will see who is laughing.

Quite Interesting

Yes, this summer is starting to turn quite interesting. A lot of fun for me, maybe I won't be so bored.

I may be going to Va Beach sometime this summer, which will be so awesome. I will get to see all my friends that I have not seen in years. I'm so excited.

Here's the picture of Kari, Me, and Lester at the mall on that glorious day in the summer. "Sketched image" my foot. $2.00 just to have a camera with an attitude problem "sketch" our picture. I could do the same thing with the equipment I have already for close to nothin'. What really tickled me though is that a copy of the picture is another $2.00, while in a store no more than 20 feet away there was a copier for 25 cents a copy. Can you say ripped off? Nice picture though. Posted by Hello

Google Search: bloggination

Google Search: bloggination

Good news everybody! We are no longer #5 for the term "bloggination". We are now #1, baby!

I can only think that it is because of all of the hard hitting articles that we are able to deliver on a consistant basis. I hear Jon's article on the Squirrel revolution is up for a Pulitzer.

And if it isn't Jon, it's Lester's total in-depth coverage of whatever he is talking about, leaving no questions unanswered that we may have.

And then there is the rest of the gang, which I was going to talk about but then I realized how sleepy I really am.

MSNBC - Experts re-create stinky dinosaur breath

Whats next?

Get all of your blogs in one place

So let me guess: You don't check back here every hour of every day to see if someone put up a new post? First off: Shame on you! Second off: That's ok, because now, as long as you are connected to the 'net, you'll get updates on new posts every hour! "How," you ask? I'm glad you said that.

You get the updates by using FeedReader! FeedReader is not just compatible with Blogger feeds, but also with any other blog that provides an XML or RSS feed, like... I dunno, let's say LiveJournal. Here's the best part: It's open source, and its FREE! Wee! Here's the link to download it: FeedReader Then, after installing it, create a new blog and put this link into it:
http://fhsu.blogspot.com/atom.xml
That's all there is! And to make sure that you ALWAYS know what's going down, go into properties, and under the "general" tab, scroll down to "Startup" and select "Run program on startup", "Start minimized to Tray", and "Check msgs on program startup". Also, go to the "Appearance" tab, and change the refresh rate to "Every 30 minutes" (or whatever time frame you want), and change archive to " ALL headlines " so that you get EVERY single post, ever. It's just that simple! Now, whenever you start your computer, you are in contact with all of your favorite blogs, almost instantly.

Oh, I almost forgot: if you have some friends on LiveJournal, just create a new entry and in the URL type:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/username/data/atom
where username is the name of your friend. Repeat for everyone that you'd like to keep an update on. Now you're done!

Hehehe

I agree things are starting to look interesting.

I am watching the Rocky marathon on amc along with the Karate Kid marathon realizing that I really need a job. So everyone write Shayne and tell him to give me a job. And you know Lester is a big goofball in more ways than one.

Hahaha

Things are starting to look interesting.

Spiderman 2 was pretty cool.
I finished one of my summer classes today. Woot, now I can work in the morrings too (if I get a job).

Shester - Download.com Music

We've finally made it! Shester's (That's Lester's and mine's group) music is now available to any person at Shester - Download.com Music. Music.download.com is now the place for free, legal, mostly awful and non-popular music. I've filled our profile with lots of hidden goodies, so make sure you read everything! And sorry, Lester, but they do NOT have a place to leave comments to the authors. I'm sad too. But happy, noneoftheless, since we are featured somewhere else besides ShayneCo.tk, the best site in the world, and the best thing to come out of humanity. I don't want to oversell it, just go there and look at stuff. Oh, and go to the Download.com link as well.

The Mushroom Kingdom

If you're a big mario (or Nintendo) fan, then you might want to check out The Mushroom Kingdom. It has a collection of all sorts of weird information that no one man could construct and contain in his brain. What in the world is All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. anyway?

Did you know that Super Mario Bros. 2 in the USA is completely different from Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan, which is known as The Lost Levels in America, and Super Mario Bros. 2 from America is known as Super Mario USA in Japan? Have you ever wondered why SMB2(USA) is so different from every other Mario game? It's because it was a different game completely, they just changed some of the graphics.

But here is the coolest thing of all: There are hidden, lost levels inside Super Mario Bros. 3, eleven in all!

If you are truly a Nintendo freak, you probably already knew about this site. To the rest of you: Please help me.

Update: After YEARS of procrastination, I finally played ALL levels of Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, including world 9, and world A to D. I'm just happy the Super Nintendo version spots you an extra 2 lives and continuation from the level (not just the beginning of the world), which helps you keep your sanity. I must say I did pretty good for a bunch of difficult levels. My jump-and-move-right skills are still sharp. Man, I'm such a nerd. Don't they have medication for that now?

My friend's website

AegusWeb

You better go there and read the awesome stories, look at the awesome art work, and other awesome stuff.
Have fun.

Samurai 7

ok there is a new anime called "Samurai 7" its suppose to be based off the movie "Seven Samurai" bout the only thing in common with the two is the story line bandits are taking the food and water supply of this village and the village seeks out a samurai to prtect them that about all that the two have in common because i dont think that in the movie "Seven Samurai" there were giant robots and flying ships and stuff but the anime is still good and worth watching ...

Prison Sex

Do unto others what has been done to you

....

I've come round full circle.
My lamb and martyr, this will be over soon.
You look so precious.

"read between the lines"

2nd try

Ok. I blogged once but did something stupid or something and lost the entire blog. I was kinda upset as I'm sure you can imagine. So I'm gonna try again.

We made it out alive and everything from the deep dark jungle of homework and camping. It was touch and go there for a little while and I wasn't sure if it would be possible but we did in fact make it out. I made new friends and found new people to make fun of. All in all it was pretty okay.

My rubberband ball is now twice the size it used to be all thanks to field camp. I come back and all yous punks need to be put back into shape again. First we are going to have to go back to the Great Sand Dunes National Monument. Man what an awsome place. We can all go!!! We will play in the sand make a giant sand castle and sled down the slopes of the dunes and... everything. That place is the coolest place I have ever been. I want to move there..........

I got a day off... kinda.

Thanks to today's weather, I had most of the day off. High humidity caused us to delay cutting until 12:30, which allowed us to cut for about an hour, until it rained, and eventually, hailed on us. I wasn't able to cut due to my combine failing to start, and I'm sleeping in tomorrow. Usually we work on Sundays for harvest, but thanks to the rain, maybe I'll have another day off, which would be the 5th in two weeks. I don't mind, sleep is good.

What do you mean, "Who cares?" Who are you to say anything? You couldn't blog on the bloggiest day in blogging history if your blog depended on it. I'm sorry if I don't live a life of espionage, or if I can't even spell "espinage" correctly. "Why are you so defensive?" Hey, just back off man, if I wanted a game of twenty questions, I'd play the home game. Well, the video game anyway. Have you ever played Taboo for the Nintendo ("Ol' 8-bitty", I'd always say), made by Rareware, the same folks who brought Donkey Kong Country? No? I haven't either. I heard its a real stinker, almost as bad as the Atari 2600 game "E.T.", which I HAVE played, and yes, it is REALLY BAD. You've heard of the old Chinese torture where they plug every oriface in your head and then make you sneeze? Real messy, and really unpleasant. It's kind of like that.

Are you wanting to know what I type like when I'm really sleepy? Its this whole blog. I'll see if I can understand it tomorrow. Are you STILL reading this? Do yo want a prize for this? Well, ok. Have you ever played "Scorched Earth" for MS-DOS? Then you should like an updated newer game that is loosely based off of it: Scorched3D. Go play it! Although I haven't played this newer version. Tell me if you like it.

Life

It kind of feels good to know I'm still alive.
I miss my family, can't wait till I get to see them again.
Though at times I don't get along with my parents/sister, but I really do love them a lot. As of right now they are everything to me. They're kind of my motivation to keep going.
And that feels good.

Grant (I don't know if you read this) I love talking to you man. You're one of my better friends who I would like to consider family (though we don't get to hang out much and we don't talk a whole lot). I miss ya. I also miss Anwar. You are like a brother to me, I love you man! Now I'm all getting emotional. Its probably because I'm watching Oi! Ryoma. Awesome anime about Sakamoto Ryoma (look him up). I love Japan. The world is a beautiful place. And this blog is getting cheesy

Let the sneezing begin!

Stuffed up nose... itchy skin... watery eyes... sneezing mouth... Yes, that's right: Harvest began unceremoniously two days ago, and I feel like I got hit with a truck, full of grain no less.

Harvest is a weird experience of farming, it is a joyfull event because all of your hard work culminates to this event, and you get the big payoff. Or you'd hope that, at least. 14+ hour work days means that you aren't getting the usual amount of time to relax and sleep, but getting more money makes up for that.

Harvest is also one of the occasions where every task is dropped and everyone pitches in. Every worker on the farm is at one single field, operating the combines, grain cart, or the semis. It gives you a sense of togetherness, and you don't feel quite as alone as you would if you were farming a field.

This season has a slight somber feeling to it as well, because our crops were damaged due to the freeze in May. It was like what my dad said: What we have is supermodel wheat; It looks good, but there is nothing in the head.

So if you were wondering why I haven't done much communicating in the past few days, this is why.

four degrees

Well, I washed my truck yesterday (finally) and waxed it as well. Its all nice and shiny. Of couse I probably should have done this after my trip, but whatever. Thanks to Biebs and Tom for helping me wash the car.

Which reminds me, I have found 2 people willing to go to Japan with me this winter break, and both may be able to save up enough money to do it too! I've always wanted to take my friends to Japan cause that would be so cool. It just sucks that it costs $1,000 or more to go there (roundtrip). If I were rich I would pay for my friends as well, especially those who kindly let me stay at their house durring breaks. I hate being the guest, I'd rather be the host.

In a Zombie movie

sidekikc
Your comic relief saved you. You were probably
the hero's best friend and messed up a lot, but
helped him in some major way, believing in
yourself, near the end. As the sympathetic
character, you live.

How fast would you die in a cheesy zombie flick?
brought to you by Quizilla

Hahaha, I lived! Everyone likes me, and they think I'm funny! I'm so happy.

Stinkfist

Something has to change.
Un-deniable dilemma.
Boredom's not a burden
Anyone should bear.

Constant over stimu-lation numbs me
and I wouldn't have
It any other way.

It's not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I don't want it.
I just need it.
To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive.

Finger deep within the borderline.
Show me that you love me and that we belong together.
Relax, turn around and take my hand.

I can help you change
Tired moments into pleasure.
Say the word and we'll be
Well upon our way.

Blend and balance
Pain and comfort
Deep within you
Till you will not have me any other way.

It's not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I don't want it.
I just need it.
To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive.

Knuckle deep inside the borderline.
This may hurt a little but it's something you'll get used to.
Relax. Slip away.

Something kinda sad about
the way that things have come to be.
Desensitized to everything.
What became of subtlety?

How can it mean anything to me
If I really don't feel anything at all?

I'll keep digging till
I feel something.

Elbow deep inside the borderline.
Show me that you love me and that we belong together.
Shoulder deep within the borderline.
Relax. Turn around and take my hand.

Hehehehe

Ah, ambiguity at its best. I love it!

Reality TV: Take 2

So I've been watching Last Comic Standing on NBC the past couple of weeks-
"Hold on! This isn't the Shayne we know!"
Hey! First off, if you're new to the site, then you wouldn't know me, so who are you to talk? Second, I know nobody else visits the site besides three people (Some of our staff only post... you know who you are... you make me sick... but you don't know that you make me sick because you don't read this anyway). Third, if you DO know me, hear me out, Mr. Snap Judgement.

I love stand-up comedy. This is probably the best reality TV show in North America. That doesn't say much, because this show would have been so much better if they took out the dumb reality component from the show. Here's what the show should be:

1. Comedians do gig on stage.
2. People vote for the best comedian.
3. Best comedian gets $10,000.

Instead, they drama it all up to make it seem like we should care:

1. Comedians do gig on stage.
2. Judges vote for comedians that aren't nessessarily funny, but do it just for the conflict.
3. Make sure that they include one token gay guy, funny or not (in this case, not).
4. They all go to a house.
5. Now the comedians do the usual hackneyed backstabbing, plotting, and voting for who should leave.
6. Eventually, the last comedian left (hence the name) will get the chance to star in a sitcom or an infomercial... or something, I'm not sure, I wasn't paying attention on that part.

Yep. My version essentially boils down to America's Funniest Home Videos, but instead it would be called America's Funniest Comedians (how original). What comedian wouldn't jump at the chance for $10000 for 1 nights work? I'd jump off my house several times for that much money.

To wrap things up: Reality TV still sucks brains.

Just stuff

I've been recording bunch of song ideas and writing lyrics and things like that lately. Also I might get a job with Kiel, I'll see how that goes.
Uh... Just thought I'd blog. How's everyone else doing?

Darwin Awards

"The Darwin Awards honor those who improve our gene pool... By removing themselves from it."

Seriously, though. These guys are really dumb. They die in a horrible way, but yet, somehow, in a very comical fashion. You usually don't feel sad that one of these persons has been relieved of their life... you feel like justice has been served. Sounds a little macabre? Yes, but it's all in the delivery.

In other news, we might not start harvest until next week. I love rain delays, because honestly, the ground needs it. Moisture is good.

Update: This Darwin award wasn't so much funny as it was spooky. I'm talking near-campfire quality spooky. Of course, I'm easily spooked: Gasp! A red car! Seriously, though, here is the Darwin Award link: Booby Traps Trap Boob. Now another story that provides additional information: Avenging pensioner killed by own booby-trap. And what does that last unsolved clue mean? That if you drink a dozen colas that you'll get a kidney stone or two?

Back in Action

I am back in Hays.

Jon's Back

It's not gonna be so lonely here anymore!

Friday, June 18, 2004

It was a bloggable occasion

My visit to Hays was just the thing I needed before harvest starts. I've forgotten that Agnew Hall was built around the source of Earth's thermal energy (you though it was in the middle of Earth? nope, its Agnew). Everyone I saw was just as zany as the time I left them. It's good that we only did three days. Thanks to all of that eating out, I was getting fatter and my wallet was getting thinner. I don't care, it was fun.

Kari was a good sport, going everywhere. The movie was great, and playing Super Mario Brothers 3 (twice) and playing World Class Track Meet, then coughing up one of my lungs, it was great. I was also humbled by Kari's mad Tetris 2 skills.

I still have that picture, I'll post it up... whenever. I'll miss you guys!

Hurray for Shayne

Shayne came to visit today! We had so much fun. We went to the Mongolian BBQ buffet with Keri and ate a lot of food. We ended up staying for 2 freakin' hours. Woah! And then we watched Around the World in 80 Days. Wow that was a funny movie, didn't expect it to be that good. "Birds! Brilliant, we'll burn birds!" "...How are we getting out of here?" "You had me at the nipples"

Gooooo Watchhhhhhh Itttttttt!!! Foo'

"And I dressed like a woman"
In other news, I'm not gay, contrary to popular belief. Remember kids, drugs are bad, unless you buy them from me.

A three-martini monday (except it's tuesday)

congrats to me, we now have wireless! (not that i did anything, it just sort of came along and here i am) exciting times in macksville...i'm currently baking a chocolate angel food cake for my dad's birthday; and yes, paul, i'm doing my best to live properly. until next time...

When life flashes before your eyes, report it to the police.

We had a very nice storm last night. Lots of rain (1/2 inch) a sprinkling of hail, and a tornado warning approximately 4 to 8 miles away from our house. We didn't see any tornados (it was nighttime, after all) so I guess that was a good thing, but it sure would have been cool to see one, and not die, and not have any material possessions destroyed, or have my life altered negatively in any way.

I also cleaned out some grain bins today, with the help of my cousin Candi. In one of the bins, some bird decided to make a home for some 6 or so ugly, hissing, baby birds. Instead of killing them directly, we relocated them into the forest-of-trees windbreak, where they might make some coyote happy.

The English Patent #24303

There she was. The love of my life. It was love at first sight. The way she moved... It was hypnotic, which explains why I cluck like a chicken every time I hear a bell. I had to talk to her, but there was a problem.

I had lost my voice yelling at my neighbors dog the night before. Not because it was barking or anything, I'm just a jerk to animals. I thought that was all there was to life, yelling at things, until I met her.

Her hair was like golden fields of red lava flowing into the polluted waters of Lake Erie: Ok, so she had several botched hair dye jobs, but I didn't care. Her eyes were probably beautiful, but they were swollen shut from the boxing match she was in earlier that night. And the teeth she still had were like sparkling pearls, swimming in fancy ketchup.

So I spent the next five days planning the perfect way to meet her and waiting for my voice to recover. The time of day, the words I say, and then the date by the bay. Everything was perfect, and nothing was left to chance... or so I thought. Finally the H-hour of the D-day came when I would express my love for her.

I went to the gym where she worked, "Grrl Pwr Gym". Ladies were everywhere, but I only care about one. She was jumping rope in the corner. The rope was making the same sound as my heart: wippity wappity. Sure I was nervous, but if I chickened out now I would lose her, and that is something that yelling at a thousand dogs wouldn't be able to fix.

And then I realized that the wippity wappity sound wasn't because I was nervous, it was because I was 40 years old and I've been eating double-bacon cheese burgers since I was six. My heart eventually exploded.

The doctors were able to reconstruct and reattach my heart. They had to go as far as my bladder to get some of the pieces. I guess this story just goes to show you how amazing today's medical science really is.

Oh, by the way

That was a quote from this website.

Hahahaha, High School Graduation.

"Graduating high school is way overrated. It shouldn't even be celebrated. Graduating is pretty much expected of people. If you don't graduate, you should be punished. If you pass, okay, time to move on. They make it come off like these people are the chosen few who have attained the ultimate highest, most honerable human accomplishment. Hell no"
Just thought that was funny cause I felt the same way. Graduation was so boring.....

It looks like Lester and Shayne are keeping the blog alive

I was reading the blog for the first time in about two weeks and I notice it is mostly shayne and lester so I thought I would write to say I am still here. I blog once just before this but it does not seem to be showing up. I like your blog on Regan shayne I although I don't know how you write so much I run at of word. Well later and LIVE LONG AND PROPER!!!!!!!!!!!

Life goes on

Time fly if you are or not having fun. The summer is going good for the most part, but by the time I get off work all I can do is sit and do nothing it seems like. Hope you all are have a good summer. So till next time live long and prosper.(sp)

Anyone who snap judges others is an idiot

I just finished dammer diking today! What a boring job. But, you sit in a tractor for 12 hours straight and earn money, so its all good. Since we finished early, I get tomorrow off and go to a cousin of mine's wedding. Plus, Candi is here so we've got some catching up to do.

I debated whether I should put the next paragraph in here. I know we like to keep things lighthearted in this blog, and politics is the farthest thing away from lightheartedness (don't worry, there isn't much). Then again, I also know most of you stop reading my posts three sentences in, so I'll say whatever I want.

I've been viewing and hearing a lot of coverage of Regan's funeral. When he was president, I was still a little rapscalian, and I didn't really care too much about politics (I guess I still don't). From what I could gather over those and the years after, he seemed like a regular old dude that really didn't do anything. But this week, I've heard many of his speechs and anecdotes, and now my views of him are flip-flopped. He was the funniest president ever, and helped bring this country back around from a president that didn't have any idea what he was doing: Carter. Some of his lines were really classic: "...This fellow [Clinton] they've nominated claims he's the new Thomas Jefferson. Well let me tell you something; I knew Thomas Jefferson..." That just cracks me up. Oh, and who could forget the time that all of the air traffic controllers were fired. He meant business. Although I never really fully experienced his presidency, it sounds like he held many ideals that a great president should have.

If you're still reading this, then I guess I didn't know you as well as I thought. I'm sorry. As a token of forgiveness, here is a link to Lester and I's music video: Singing a Song

hmm its been awhile

ok its been awhile since i posted so here it goes ....

to start it off that big date i was suppose to have yeah that went down the drain the chick stood me up i was really mad and upset if she didnt want to go on it with me all she had to do was say "no i dont really want to go with you" or she could have just lied and said she was busy either way i wouldnt have cared .....

And now for something completely unoriginal

Many of you have seen my handy little Aiptek Pocket DV2 4-in-1 camera: Takes pictures, records video with audio, records audio only, and can take on responsibility as a webcam as well. What's not to like?
-The images are 1.7MP, and of poor, dim, blue-noise quality.
-Video is 10fps 320x240 resolution.
-Audio doesn't sound like Miracle Ear, instead it sounds like mayonnaise. Also, to record audio only, it takes a good 15 seconds from boot time to navigating the menu to recording the audio (although the boot up time is pretty good)
So it isn't as good at taking pictures as a dedicated camera would, and it isn't as good as taking movies as a regular camcorder, and you might as well buy one of those little audio recorders to be of any use.
With all of these downfalls, why buy one?
-It's cheaper than buying all those things individually.
-It's more convenient than lugging all those things around for spur of the moment occasions.
-It is small.

When I bought this thing over a year and a half ago, it was $140 after shipping and handling. Now its $70. I was just wondering: How much would all that stuff cost if I went the (slightly) higher quality route?
Digital Camera: DXG-308 (3.1 MP) = $70 (newegg.com)
Camcorder: PVC S-VHS-C = $200 (circuitcity.com)
Webcam: Logitech QuickCam Zoom Web Camera (with audio) = $49 (walmart.com)
Digital Audio Recorder: RCA RP5011 Digital Voice Recorder = $30 (walmart.com)
Grand-Total: $349 (no tax)

So there you go. By spending twice as much (and then some)
than the camera itself, I get much better quality than that all-in-one thing. But the camera I have is still ok, the images are webpage worthy, but not something that you'd want for high quality prints. The video is ok for quick internet movies (like a music video!), but not for recording some big event, like a basketball game. The PC camera is right on par with other webcams, its just a nuisance to set up. I never used the audio feature, its that bad (I once used it to record a music event, it recorded about an hour, but it wasn't something that I'd want to listen to).

I must be really bored.

Japander.com

Japander.com. Go there, and realize that everyone is a sell out. Interesting, they have a language called "Japanese" now. Who knew.

A feeling of being hollow inside

I did nothing today!

Shayne's Movie Review.

I saw Shrek 2 today (Saturday). Of the Shayne Movie scale, it gets 9 out of 10 points. I didn't like the first movie as much, this one was actually funny. Also, for those who haven't seen the movie yet, make sure you wait past the first credits (past when they show the voices and the characters they played, and past the director and head people credits, when it goes black), because it has an extra ending that wraps things up with the ****** (censored for minor spoiler detail).

Insert Title Here

... As I was driving down the empty highway that night, I looked back on the events that transpired that day. The thoughts were running through my mind like water running through a broken toilet.

It started like any other day. Except this time, I was tied to a wooden chair, and I was missing a sock. My whole head felt like it had been used to clog up a wood chipper. Everything was fuzzy, like a cat that had taken a ride in the clothes dryer.
"Good morning. So I guess you've smelled the Folger's coffee brewing?"
The man was built like a gorilla, with a face to match. For the record, it wasn't the coffee grounds that wore me up, it was his sweaty armpit smell. Man did he stink. Anyways, it was my turn to talk:
"Cut the niceties. I want my MTV."
"What?"
"Sorry, I'm still a little dizzy. I want to know what's going on."

"There'll be time for that later," he started in. "Right now I'm asking the questions. Are you interested in switching your long distance provider?"
"What?"
"Sorry, I used to be a telemarketer for MCI. Who are you working for?"
I had no idea what he was talking about. "Listen, bud, you've got the wrong guy. I live on welfare."

"What? Aren't you Stevey Wonder?"
"Are you blind and retarded, man? I'm Shayne Riley."
"I was wondering why you were white and had the ability to see," he said. "Sorry, I'm a little dyslexic. For your inconvenience, here's a coupon for a dollar off at our casino's buffet."

I ended up having a great time at that casino, and with the dollar I saved, I gambled on roulette and won $30,000 and a car, and I bought a new pair of socks at the gift shop. It's a classy joint, I wouldn't mind going back again...

Ok, that didn't really happen, I just did a bunch of busy work today. Put some dammerdikers (Hard to explain, the implements are used to help water get to the roots of irrigated corn) onto a couple 8630's, and THIS time, I didn't back into a building. I tell ya, things are looking up!

Watching too much anime

Here's a tip: Don't trust generalized statements.

A scientist went into his lab one day and noticed his test monkey reading a couple of books. In one hand, the monkey was holding the bible. In the other, the monkey was holding Darwin's book on evolution. The monkey was switching between the two with a confused look on it's face.
"What's the matter?" Asked the scientist.
The monkey replied, "I'm not sure: am I my brother's keeper or my keeper's brother?"

That's another joke courtesy of my uncle Sam. It's good stuff.

I'm currently on Day Four of re-installing the OS and software on my parents computer. Currently, it is a Lean, Mean, as-fast-as-this-thing-will-get machine, and on Windows 98 First Edition if you can believe it. All security updates are installed, I've installed several multimedia enhancements, but I still need to install the software that they want (Like, photo software, greeting card software, blah blah blah). It wouldn't have taken this long, but I have been busy downloading stuff on our dial-up: I estimate I've downloaded 150 Megs of software just to get this thing as up to date as possible, which includes installing IE6 and DirectX 9, and by themselves they are time-killers, [ rest of rant edited due to unhealty levels of Boring ] and I still have more to do.

I sort of made a bad mistake today: I farmed the wrong field. Whoops. At least there wasn't anything planted there, and luckily it was our field. The only thing that happened was I ruined several hundred dollars worth of chemical treatments to the field, but still... you just feel dumb when you do that. At least it wasn't anything bad like driving a farming implement into the doors of a quanset. No, wait. That was me too. Several years ago. But at least I didn't... Oh right, that one's mine too. Now I feel worse. I'll think of some jokes... Heheh, that one's good... hee hee... I like that one too... Ok, I'm all better now. Until next time everybody, and remember: I can't ever write a short post.
